K9 Club Funding, Streeterville

Welcome to the first DWGWOK™ in Chicago; an urban PET RELIEF AREA designed for caring pet parents. Our initial goal is to collect $5000 to develop and install 3 DWGWOK™ sites along dog walking routes in the Streeterville/Gold Coast neighborhoods. Over several years of neglect, this vacated corner of Streeterville had turned into a trash and feces dumping ground drawing rats, vermin, and vagrant traffic.

Now beautifully transformed, this portion of the parkway has been reclaimed by this neighborhood-supported flagship project to serve as an example for other city residents to practice projects of pride on their own blocks. With continued neighborhood support, maintaining our Streeterville DWGWOK™ site will be part of this project.

This animal relief site features an environmentally safe artificial turf surface that allows flow to a four-inch drainage system below. Your pup can pee without stepping on the bacteria-filled ground. The turf surface encourages easy poop to pick up and is periodically treated with PAW PAD FRIENDLY baking soda to rinse the under gravel, dispel odors, and keep away nasty microorganisms.

FYI: The common (compostable/biodegradable) poop bags are HAZARDS to the environment if tossed into a regular trash can that ends up in a landfill where it creates the dreaded methane gas during the years it takes to decompose.

"COMPOSTABLE" bags only work if disposed of in a designated "COMPOST" trash can and contents are properly disposed of as "COMPOST”. For this reason, the use of compostable poop bags is restricted in several states if not properly disposed of.
