We are a family of six, which includes our energetic mini dachshund Rylee. Yes, my father is surrounded by nothing but females but I know he would not have it any other way! Unfortunately, in the beginning of December 2015, my dad was suffering from severe chest pains. He has been an employee for Wegmans food markets for almost 35 years, and everyone there knows him well for his BIG personality. However, he noticed difficulty just walking from his car to work and several times when he would be sitting down. After taking initiative and deciding to go to the doctor he found that his cholesterol was higher than usual. Soon after his administered stress test, he was sadly told that there was significant blockages in his arteries. As scary as this news may have sounded we knew it would only be a standard procedure to put a stent in to clear the blockages. The stent was supposed to be placed in two of the arteries that were mainly blocked, but once they went in they realized it was not going to be that easy. We were absolutely devastated. We knew that this only meant our last result. Double-bypass surgery. We were broken. As a family we have never experienced something so extreme, and now the toughest man we have ever known, was knocked down more than ever before. This man brings smiles into every room he walks into and his big and tall attributes only make him an even more humble person. Even after receiving all this news in just a few short days, he was worried about us his family. He was worried about how we were going to survive fianacially. This has always been unneeded stress on his poor heart, and I could only think of so many things to help us out. We are just an average fun-loving family who live life day by day. We were obviously not prepared for this news, especially before this holiday season. I am looking out for the health of my family, and I hope this can somehow help. I ask you for your help and support throughout this rough patch in our lives and I appreciate everything and anything you may be able to give us. Thank You!
