Rick's Battle
Donation protected
Rick Gyselaar is a doting father, a loving son, a great friend and so much more. He is always one to help when needed and never backs down to a challenge. He always thinks positively when times get rough.
Recently Rick has been diagnosed with cancer. He has squamous cell carcinoma in his jaw and tongue. Rick had cancer 10 years ago and had treatment for it but it now has comeback when times have become hard for the Gyselaar Family with the pandemic going on.
Rick is a single father to two girls. His oldest daughter Tori just started college and her younger sister Taylor is in her junior year of high school. He pays the bills and goes out to work each day to provide for his family. With Rick starting chemotherapy soon, he is going to have to stop working due to not being able to. Soon after he is seeking to start proton therapy in hopes to target cancer and get rid of it for good. Proton therapy is more expensive but it saves Rick from having to have surgery on his tongue.
With having the expenses of Rick's medical treatment, all of the usual household bills, and his daughter in college now, our family and friends are doing everything they can to stay strong with this tough road ahead of them and still trying to rebound from the pandemic.
As his oldest daughter, I ask that if you can donate anything you can to help my dad out. Even if you can't donate anything, your prayers are truly welcomed. Please share his story with your families and friends. My dad is my rock and is a man that stays strong even when it's hard for him to and I want the best possible outcome for him.
