Benson has sadly been diagnosed with a congenital portosystemic shunt, a relatively rare condition causing the blood to bypass the liver, therefore not allowing for toxins and by-products to be filtered. He became very poorly back in February, and after extensive tests and specialists reviews, we now know the full diagnosis.

Benson is currently being medically managed, however longer term this is likely to be ineffective. For him to have the best possible outcome, we have been advised that he needs surgery to have a shunt fitted. This is an expensive surgery, costing between £7000-£8000 pounds, so we are kindly asking for any donations, big or small, to help ensure we can get Benson the treatment he needs.
