We are setting up the Cody Williams Memorial Fund to help with needs of Anna Williams moving forward. Although we all thought we were Cody’s best friend when he was with us, we all know that his real best friend was Anna. We’d like to ask that you make a donation you see fit for this situation. We all miss Cody already, but the best way to honor him is to support his daughter as possible to carry on his legacy as a person. I have included a copy of Cody’s obituary below and look forward to seeing those that are able to make it to his services this weekend. Thank you!
SHIRLEY BROTHERS MORTUARIES & CREMATORY Share a Memory Send Flowers Cody Michael Williams Cody Michael Williams Mar 8, 1975 - Feb 11, 2023 Cody Michael Williams, 47, of Carmel, Indiana died on Saturday, Feb 11th. Cody is survived by Nicole Williams, his daughter and “best friend” Anna Williams, his parents Bob and Cindy Williams, his sister Toni DeKeyser, her husband David, his nephews Grant DeKeyser and Lucas Moore, niece Anne Marie DeKeyser, along with a host of extended family members that loved him dearly including his Aunt and Uncle who were like second parents, Jeff and Nancy Pruner, and his cousin and semi-little-sister Andi Malcolm, her husband Terry and daughter Charli. Cody was born in St. Louis but was quickly relocated to Indy by his parents to be closer to extended family. Growing up Cody was incredibly smart, funny, and easily the star of the family as he was in several tv commercials as a child. His prized possession was an ATV given to him by his Uncle Jeff and Aunt Nanny that he loved to use to torment his sister. He loved playing baseball and his coach was often his own dad. He was the best at making friends, and also the best at keeping those friends for his lifetime. Some of those lifelong friends were made as early as his days at Mary Castle Elementary. After high school at Lawrence North, class of 1993, he went to college at Indiana University. He was a proud Hoosier and a proud member of the SAE fraternity. He loved college so much he went an extra year. After college he worked in sales; a perfect job for someone who had never met a stranger. In 2005 he married Nicole and then in 2010 they had Anna. Anna had Cody wrapped around her finger from the moment she was born. He always referred to her as his best friend, and he lit up at the very mention of her name. Cody was a friend to all, incredibly loyal, loved kids (mostly because he had the same maturity level), and loved dogs. He was funny, sarcastic, playful, mischievous, and as one of his friends pointed out, fussy. Everyone who knew him has a story about him. Stories of how funny he was, how easy he was to talk to, and some stories that probably shouldn’t be repeated. Cody’s family takes comfort in knowing that he is with all of his grandparents who he loved so much, his older brother who died at birth, and his beloved dog Hooker (don’t ask). Visitation will be at Sunday, February 19, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Road, Fishers IN 46038. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to Hickory House Recovery Center in the hopes of helping someone else struggling with addiction. Checks can be sent to Hickory House at 5486 W US Highway 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. Or, to honor his love for dogs, donations can be made to the Indianapolis Humane Society at https://secure.indyhumane.org/site/Donation2?df_id=3381&mfc_pref=T&3381.donation=form1.
