Help Taylor stay in the UK
Hi , my name is Taylor Bystrom. I am a transgender disabled man from the United States of America. I have been living in the United Kingdom for 5 years now. After the break-up of my marriage, I have now been informed by the home office that I have until November 8, 2022 to sort out my immigration or face deportation. Having no immediate familial support, no job or housing in the United States, I will be homeless once again. Here in the UK I have a job, a family, and a community that loves and supports me. I simply cannot afford the reality that I am facing if I do not get the support that I need. I am living with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome that causes all of my joints to dislocate and severe pain. As an employed tax paying member of society staying in the United Kingdom I have access to the NHS which provides me with all the care that I need to live a happy and functioning life. This care involves physical care as well as mental health care. The current political climate in America absolutely terrifies me, and I am worried as a transgender man that I will not be able to receive proper care if I am forced to leave the United Kingdom.
These funds will be used to help me pay my solicitors, that are helping me to change my visa to indefinite leave to remain status as well as my legal fees surrounding the process.
If you could please help me on this journey, I would be incredibly grateful as I view this situation as life or death. In my time here in the UK thus far, I have been a loud voice for the LGBTQ community as well as the charities associated with it. I have given my time, energy, and talent towards furthering the voices of others in my similar life situations. If given a chance I will continue to be a force for good in my community and to serve others.
