Hey! It’s Cas—

I am currently a nursing student at West Coast University. I started this journey back in 2017 and have hit more than a few speed bumps along the way.

In March 2019 I felt an oddly shaped “bump” on my side and went to have it checked by my PCP. Come my next appointment I was told I had melanoma and it had to be removed ASAP. I went through laser radiation treatments and have been free & clear for 6 months now. (Wear your sunscreen, friends!) All this happened while still enrolled as a full time student as well as working full time but ultimately after my treatments I decided to take a leave of absence from school in order to get my health back in order.
My husband is a pediatric psychiatric charge nurse and has been working tirelessly to support us and pay for my medical bills coming in. With that being said— going back to school seems out of the question for us financially..
There is nothing I want more than to complete my program and become “CasandraFranklin, BSN, RN”, so I’m here asking for help for my next academic year. Anythinghelps ❤️
