Ellie is a sweet six year old kindergartener in Shelbyville, KY. This precious girl is so full of life and joy. Monday night at Ellie’s soccer practice she was attacked by a dog. At the end of practice as she passed the dog, walking towards her mom, it attacked her and bit her on the face. This vicious animal tore sweet Ellie’s cheek with a 14 cm long laceration. Thankfully another parent acted quickly and was able to wrap her up with gauze and stop the bleeding. If it weren’t for this quick thinking it is very likely she wouldn’t have survived the blood loss. While she is currently in stable condition, she will have long lasting scars both mentally and physically. With the severe damage to the left side of her face it is likely that she may never be able to smile with that side of her face again. Sweet Ellie and her family will have a very long road to recovery. This has been an absolutely horrific and traumatic experience that no family should have to suffer through. As a mother of one of Ellie’s teammates and one who witnessed this nightmare my heart is broken for Ellie and her family. A few other mothers and I wanted to put together this go fund me to help out.
