Help Save Annie

Annie is a spunky, silly Pomeranian that has been a member of our family for 13 years. Raising her from 3 months old, Annie & my grandma became inseparable. From taking her on every family vacation to getting her a pup cup from Sonic, they did everything together. Annie served as a fantastic emotional support dog, although it was a running joke that Annie needed more support than my grandma did. Annie was a happy, healthy pup up until Saturday evening when she was attacked by an unleashed, unconfined dog while she was on a walk with my aunt. The large dog bolted from a house with its front door open and grabbed Annie before anyone could react. When my aunt, who suffered some minor injuries as well, was finally able to secure Annie, with little help from the owners, she rushed her to the vet. Annie sustained several lacerations which included a torn rectum and a torn muscle that required a drain to be inserted. She returned to the vet late Sunday night where it was discovered she had an infection from the wounds and it was causing her kidneys to fail. Annie is currently still fighting, but the vet bills are proving too much for my grandma. My grandma is one of the most hardworking people I know; not even taking much of a break after beating colon cancer. She has always given me, and the rest of her family, everything I’ve wanted before even thinking of herself and she is the kind of person to give the shirt off her back to a complete stranger. We wouldn’t be asking for help, but there are no legal repercussions for the owners of the dogs. Even if you can’t donate, sharing this would go a long way. Please help me help my grandma & a very important, very furry member of our family.
