Help Fig Get Better

Last Friday, our bestest boy Fig had to have surgery for a linear foreign body. He did well for surgery, and even though he was cut by some of the best surgeons in the country at CSU they were unable to remove all of the foreign material because of the location. The surgery department faculty on the case has only seen this 2 other times in a long and storied career. Fig’s recovery has been a bit up and down - and unfortunately because of the rarity of his case, we aren’t sure exactly how he will do long term. He will need regular abdominal ultrasounds to keep him safe, and more supportive care as he heals.  Basically we just don’t know exactly what we’re up against.

We hate asking for help - but we want to make sure we give Fig the best chance possible for a long, happy and healthy life. Unfortunately, the reality of the situation is we’re starting to get tight on funds and would hate to have to make decisions that shorted his care.

Fig is a rescue, and in training to hopefully one day do search and rescue work himself. He’s a proud blood donor at CSU as well.
