If you’re anything like us, you’ve probably grown used to seeing countless Go FundMe requests and, over time, it’s easy to become desensitized. But ever so often, something happens that shakes us to our core, an event so devastating that we can’t just scroll past. This is one of those moments. Our small team has come together because we feel compelled to act. For our friends, family, and colleagues who knows us, Jamaica isn’t just where we were born, it's a part of who we are. The island lives in our hearts, woven into our identity, and when it hurts, we hurt too.

On October 28, 2025, our beloved island of Jamaica was struck by a Category 5 hurricane, resulting in widespread devastation across numerous neighborhoods and establishments. This catastrophe has left our people in a profoundly challenging situation. We are creating this GoFundMe campaign to support those in Jamaica who have been severely affected by this traumatic disaster. Inspired by our motto, 'Out of Many One People' we unite as one to uplift and support each other because we are all family.

We are reaching out to the global community in hopes of garnering support for our rebuilding and recovery efforts. The resilience and spirit of our people are commendable, but the journey to restoration requires resources and assistance that exceed our current capabilities.

While the government will be focusing on larger establishments and infrastructure, we also want to make sure that people in our smaller communities are not forgotten. Too often, we hear about misuse of donation dollars, leaving rural areas and tight-knit neighborhoods feeling overlooked.

The funds from my GoFundMe campaign will be transferred directly to my verified bank account associated with the fundraiser. Once received, I will personally manage the disbursement to ensure full transparency and accountability. I will maintain receipts and documentation for all expenses, and updates will be shared with donors to demonstrate how the funds are being used.

Upon arrival in Jamaica on Thursday, November 6, I will begin implementing the next phase of the project. To date, I have already used a portion of the funds—over $1,000—to purchase essential supplies, which are packed and ready for shipment. These include basic household items, hygiene products, and materials needed for rebuilding efforts.

The remaining funds will be allocated as follows:

Building Materials: To assist with reconstruction efforts for homes and community structures damaged or destroyed. This will include lumber, roofing materials, cement, nails, and tools.

Food Assistance: To provide groceries and essential food supplies for displaced families and individuals affected by recent hardships.

Local Support Services: When possible, I plan to source materials locally to stimulate the local economy and support small Jamaican businesses and laborers.

Every expenditure will directly support the rebuilding process and immediate relief for families in need. Transparency remains a top priority—I will continue to post updates and photos to the GoFundMe page so that supporters can see the direct impact of their contributions.

Our goal is to change that narrative. We believe that real progress happens when everyone has a fair chance to rebuild and thrive. That means listening to the needs of smaller communities, providing access to resources. It’s about ensuring that every person, regardless of where they come from, feels seen, supported, and included in our shared future. This fundraiser is being organized to benefit individuals in need across the island of Jamaica. Our team will be returning home, from Atlanta, Georgia, to Jamaica to purchase non-perishable food items and other essential supplies. These items will be distributed to vulnerable members of the community, extending beyond our personal networks of family and friends. The goal of this initiative is to provide meaningful assistance to those facing hardship and to promote community well-being through compassion and collective support.

We believe in the power of community and the strength that comes from standing together in times of crisis. Every action counts, and together, we can make a difference in rebuilding lives and restoring hope.
