We are an Eco Resort located in Morrillo, Veraguas, Panama. We are working together with FUNDAT - Fundación de Agua y Tierra (Foundation for Earth and Water) to help them raise money to build a visitor and research center to support Sea Turtle Conservation.
FUNDAT is currently staffed by a knowledgeable and dedicated team of 3 people: a Coastal Resource Manager, Environmental Educator, and a Marine Biologist. They work tirelessly day and night to protect Sea Turtles whose population has been suffering from massive global population decline and facing extinction. However, their current facilities and lack of funding are causing them to fall short of being able to adequately protect Sea Turtles in this area from their various threats nor educate the local school children and surrounding community to create a sustainable conservation program.
Our goal is to help them raise $10,000 by the end of 2020, which will contribute greatly to the construction cost of a new facility. This new facility will provide them the space, equipment, and additional staff needed to support Sea Turtle Conservation in this area. With additional staff, they will be able to cover more coastal area to monitor, research, and collect turtle eggs for safe hatching, as well as collect and share their data with the global Sea Turtle Scientists and Conservationists.
Research, beach patrolling, and protection of the eggs is only part of what this facility will accomplish. FUNDAT plans to create a more sustainable program through education of the local community, and people of all ages here in Panama, and around the world. They will be able to develop their international conservation education programs to host people for hands-on educational experiences to support the critical needs of the global Sea Turtle population.
Your donation of any amount will go directly towards building this beautiful facility and the support of these beautiful turtles.
