Dear family, friends, race fans, music lovers, horror movie enthusiasts, and empaths,
I humbly write this request for support of my brother Alan Rodriguez , sister-in-law Kristin, and two young nephews. On April 4th, 2023, their lives were forever changed when Alan was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic colon cancer, which has spread to his liver. Alan has already started aggressive rounds of chemotherapy to stop, or slowdown, the potential for further spread. Additionally, Alan is facing surgery later this summer to remove the tumors from both his colon and liver. These are early days in Alan’s journey to defeat cancer, still so much ahead of him, and yet so much is unknown for this small family business owner.
As so many of you know, Alan is an entrepreneur and owner of TST Auto - Subaru Specialists . His passion for cars has also led him to follow his dreams as a race car driver. For multiple racing seasons, Alan, in his car “The Trooper”, and the TST Auto Subaru team has won every race in class. Beyond the race track, Alan has a passion for music, plays the guitar, and has played in bands throughout the years . Alan is well-known for working and supporting the Spooky Empire festival since 2004, which includes a passionate group of rock ‘n roll and horror fans. Also, being born and reared in Liverpool, England, he is an unwavering Liverpool Football Club (LFC) supporter
Alan’s diagnosis, treatment plan, and future surgeries will alter his ability to participate in all of the fun so many of you know him for. The most concerning is his ability and strength to be actively present and manage his small, family-owned business. Alan is only 51 years old, his wife soon to turn 40, and two young boys of nine and five years of age have a long journey to defeat this terrible disease. Surmounting medical bills and ability to financially sustain the family through this long road ahead are of tremendous concern.
Alan is known for his jovial demeanor, infectious laugh, and living life to the fullest. He’s provided so many us with much needed laughs and moments of silliness that’s gotten us through some difficult times. Now I ask that you consider helping Alan and his family through these difficult times. I humbly ask for a financial contribution, no matter the size, sharing Alan’s story within your network, and sending Alan and the family your love and emotional support.
Lastly, as Alan has slowly started sharing his story, he’s hearing of others that have proactively gone to visit their medical professionals for checkups, physicals, and screenings when appropriate. If you didn’t already know, the recommended screening age for colon cancer is now 45 years of age. Don’t delay.
Thank you in advance for your contribution, compassion, and positive support in a scary time for Alan, Kristin, the boys, and his larger support group.
Any support is deeply appreciated and will help with the financial burden during these desperate times. As us Liverpudlians sing/say, “You’ll Never Walk Alone !”
With humble gratitude,
Alan’s sister, Lisa Zwalina
