What started as an ordinary evening out of town for work on September 4th became one of the most terrifying nights in Jessica’s life. She suffered an immense stroke, something none of us could have ever imagined. Thanks to the quick action of her coworkers, the EMTs, Yakima Valley Memorial, Life Flight, and the incredible team at Harborview Medical Center, her life was saved.

The stroke was more severe than anyone expected, and the road ahead of her will be long and challenging. Through it all, her strength and courage have already amazed me. She and her family will need all the support they can get as she continues her treatment and rehabilitation in Seattle. Shawn and family will be traveling back forth to support her until she is able to return to Walla Walla.

For those who know Jessica, you know she isn’t just a friend, she is one of the most selfless, dedicated, hardworking, and supportive human beings you could ever ask for. She pours everything into her family, her work, and her community, always lifting others up with her kindness, love, and determination. Now, it’s our turn to lift her up.
