Levée de fonds pour le papa de notre Frère Khaled– vivre avec dignité malgré la SLA

Nous lançons cette campagne de solidarité pour soutenir le père d’un frère profondément engagé dans notre communauté, reconnu pour sa bienveillance, son humilité et son dévouement constant envers les autres. Ce frère a quitté temporairement le Québec pour retourner dans son pays d’origine afin de prendre soin de son père atteint d’une forme très avancée de sclérose latérale amyotrophique (SLA).
Cette maladie neurodégénérative incurable détruit progressivement les neurones responsables des mouvements, entraînant une paralysie complète : on ne peut plus marcher, parler, manger, ni même respirer sans assistance — alors que l’esprit reste pleinement lucide.
Aujourd’hui, son père vit dans un état de dépendance totale. Il ne peut plus parler, bouger, ni s’alimenter ou respirer seul. Sa survie et un minimum de confort reposent sur un ensemble d’équipements médicaux très spécialisés et coûteux, dont beaucoup ne sont pas couverts par les assurances.

Fundraiser for Our Brother’s Father – Living with Dignity Despite ALS

We are launching this solidarity campaign to support the father of a brother deeply involved in our community, known for his kindness, humility, and constant dedication to helping others.
This brother has temporarily left Québec to return to his home country to care for his father, who is suffering from a very advanced stage of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). This incurable neurodegenerative disease gradually destroys the neurons responsible for movement, leading to complete paralysis: one can no longer walk, speak, eat, or even breathe without assistance — while remaining fully conscious.
Today, his father lives in a state of total dependence. He can no longer speak, move, eat, or breathe on his own. His survival and minimal comfort rely on a set of highly specialized and costly medical equipment, much of which is not covered by insurance.
