G’day guys, my name is Ben, but please call me Sedg. From the 20th of October till the 30th of Nov, I’ll be running a marathon a day for 42 days, with the goal of raising $42,000 for the veterans charity 42 for 42. Throughout the event, I’ll still be working my normal hours, the boss has let me off PT, making me the unit’s biggest linger.
Every day will be dedicated to one of the fallen, with the intention of highlighting who they were as people, not just their military accolades. They were husbands, fathers, brothers, sons, and mates. In the blink of an eye, their stories were tragically cut short, their hopes and dreams taken with them. I can’t even begin or have the strength to imagine what their families went through and still go through. The world has to know who they were as people, they are more than just another name on a plaque. This isn’t about the run, this is about them, we must show the world and their families that we still and always will remember them. If you personally knew them or know someone who did please send them my way, we the living, have to know who they were.
At the start of each week, I’ll announce where the runs will take place, and you’re all invited, regardless of ability or how far you want to go that day. The more, the merrier, and if you’re feeling a little daunted about joining one of the runs, don’t be. I’m a 5’7”, 70kg Italian-Australian bloke, if you are intimidated by me, you have bigger problems. I will not be breaking any world records during this, if I run at a 5.30 pace i will consider it a good day.

While I still have a heartbeat and air in my lungs, we will remember them.
