My Stolen Car Fund
Donation protected
As many of you know, my little 1994 Honda "Hiccup 2.0" Accord was stolen a few weeks ago. I had just gotten all of the paperwork and registration squared away about a month earlier and was excited to finally get the use out of my "new" car.
I am a student at Walla Walla University, and, as students often do, I left my car parked in one of the campus parking lots overnight. The next day, I went to retrieve my car, fully expecting it to be where I left it. But when I got there, it was gone. My boyfriend and I drove all around College Place/Walla Walla in an attempt to locate it, but with no luck.
I called both Campus Security and the police to file a report. I have not heard anything since then and it has been two weeks. Anyone who I have talked to about this has said that Hondas are notorious for being stolen or broken into. Therefore, it is probably safe to say that my car has been taken to a chop shop and sold for parts by this point.
Having a car is most necessary as I have lost some job opportunities without the use of a vehicle. I had just gotten a job lined up the day before my car was stolen, but now the job has fallen through because I do not have personal transportation.
Insurance also cannot help with anything because my parents only have liability. Therefore, I get nothing.
I am not looking for a brand new car, just something that is safe and reliable and will get me to where I need to go, specifically work and school. As a poor college student with little resources, I am unable to afford another car myself, and my family is currently financially tied as well.
Asking for help is not easy, but I realize that this is my only option if I am going to be able to get back on my feet. The more time that goes by, the more opportunities I am losing to find a job that will pay the bills in this small town. You need a car to get a job, but you need a job to get a car. It's a crazy cycle, I know, but it's the world we live in. So, if you find yourself willing to give, even just a small amount, then I would be forever grateful! Prayers are also very much appreciated.
Thank you for your time!
God Bless,
Megan
