Awareness and Support for Tom's Family

What kind of person is liked by everyone? Thomas Lucas, a gentle giant with the heart bigger than his stature, "a person who is honest, kind, simple, unselfish and helpful is liked by everyone". This is Tom, my best friend since Junior High in Torrance CA, best man at my wedding, and I was lucky to have him as my co-worker for over 30 years.

Tom passed January 2nd 2024 at home in Murrieta CA, after several year of battling colon cancer. Page his wife was by his side, as always - true sole mates. Page stayed at home with Tom the last three years to ensure the best care for Tom. My heart and prayers go out to her and the family.

Tom loved his wife dearly, music, laughing, and working. He expressed to me, "never a dull moment working at the patch," and we laughed about the fun times, Company Christmas Party's, House Parties, BBQ's, Contract Parties, The Drain (from back in the day) during our visits. I know you have a story or two about Tom. Fun times and bad times, no complaints from Tom, his sharp and quick-wittedness to bad situations just made you love him even more. Tom would never let you see him sweat the little things. Dan, my brother and I had the opportunity to visit him in Mid November 2023 and play poker (Tom’s Rules, 2's Wild, One Eye Jack extra card, Suicide King gives you two extra cards) one last time.

We love you brother, and with a heavy heavy heart I will miss you.

Tom's wanted us to remember him at a time he made you laugh, he expressed on many occasions "I'm good! with a big smile..." Always living in the present. Wish was for no sad reflections. With the outpour from everyone, we are going to get together in a few months to say goodbye - we will provide updates at a later date in the Spring
