In solidarity with Analu - Unidos por Analu

Ana Lucia Barquin (“Analu”) was diagnosed with pancreatic Ewing’s Sarcoma in early 2022. She underwent two major abdominal surgeries in Guatemala but this type of cancer is not treatable in her country. For this reason, in October 2022, Analu and her parents went to Denver to start immediate treatment at UCHealth Cancer Care - Anschutz Medical Campus. Since then, she has had chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and currently, she is going through an experimental treatment.

All this treatment has had her in and out of the hospital numerous times with severe, and sometimes, threatening side effects. Analu has been dealing with this for over two years now, showing an out of this world will to live and a strength that only a few people would have, considering all that she has had to overcome.

The cost of living in the United States, immigration fees, and not being able to work, have left her and her parents in a very difficult emotional and financial situation.

We are asking for any help you can provide to alleviate them in this painful journey. No amount is too small.

Analu’s life long friends

Ana Lucia Barquin (“Analu”) fue diagnosticada con Sarcoma de Ewing en el páncreas a inicios del 2022. Tuvo dos grandes cirugías abdominales en Guatemala. Lamentablemente, este tipo de cáncer es muy raro y no fue posible tratarlo en su país, así que en octubre del 2022 Analu y su familia fueron a Denver en Estados Unidos para empezar tratamiento inmediato en el UCHealth Cancer Care - Anschutz Medical Campus. Desde entonces, ha recibido quimioterapia, radioterapia y actualmente está recibiendo un tratamiento experimental.

Todo este tratamiento la ha tenido dentro y fuera del hospital muchísimas veces con efectos secundarios muy severos e incluso peligrosos. Analu ha estado lidiando con todo esto por dos años, demostrando unas ganas de vivir increíbles y una fortaleza que pocas personas tendrían en su lugar.

Los gastos de vivir en Estados Unidos, los costos de inmigración y el no poder trabajar, la han dejado a ella y a sus papás en una situación financiera y emocional muy difícil.

Estamos pidiendo cualquier ayuda que puedan darnos. Para ayudarlos en estos momentos tan difíciles. No hay cantidad que sea muy pequeña.
