Hi, my name is Maisie and I'm 13 years old.

In 2027, I will embark on a once in a lifetime opportunity to travel to Kenya. The 4 week expedition is arranged through my school and Camps International.

This action-packed and meaningful African adventure will take me from the savannahs of Tsavo, to the white-sand beaches of Diani where I will learn to scuba dive and undertake my PADI Open Water Scuba Diving qualification.

I will become involved in a range of community and wildlife projects. Aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals I will be helping to support education and community development in two rural communities. Living and working alongside local people, I will embrace their traditions and culture.

I will learn about the challenges the locals face and effective ways of combatting this. I will undertake environmental and wildlife-focused projects such as traditional housebuilding, improvements to schools, reforestation work, tree-planting, and assisting with animal health.

I am very excited to begin my fundraising journey to help me on this adventure. My final goal will be to raise £5000 through Gofundme, tabletop stalls where I plan to make and sell things, selling some of my clothes on Vinted and seeking support from local businesses.
