Last month my sister was diagnosed with melanoma. The oncologists are certain that they caught this early enough that it can be managed after surgery. She will need two surgeries to remove affected tissue and a lymph node. She will also need aftercare and follow up appointments with her oncologist.

Heather has run her own pet sitting and training service for 5 years. Since Covid, her business has suffered severely. People were working from home and limited traveling. Though business is picking up, many of her clients continue to work from home, severely reducing her income.

Since she is working to pay monthly bills, she cannot currently afford insurance to help cover these unexpected medical costs.

She will also lose at least three, possibly 6 weeks of work. She will not be able to pick her clients up or walk many of them. This will further reduce her income during the healing stages.

It is my hope to raise any amount to pay directly to surgery or aftercare costs. If we can raise the full amount for surgery, it would be the blessing of a lifetime for her.
