Support Astrid to learn journalism with the NYT

Hi, my name is Astrid, and recently I’ve been accepted into the School of the New York Time’s Summer Academy, specifically the brand new Climate Change in the News: Reporting on the Environment course. I’ll be going to New York City for two weeks this summer to study environmental journalism with one of the most well known media publishers in North America. Also, just being in such a bustling and crazy-big city for two weeks, and getting to meet so many like-minded young adults, will be an experience in of itself.
Here’s the link to the course I’ll be attending if anyone wishes to learn more - https://nytedu.com/courses/pre-college/climate-change-in-the-news-reporting-on-the-environment/
Unfortunately, I didn’t receive financial aid, for what reason I’m not sure. As you can imagine, the course itself is expensive, as well as the room and board for staying on campus in Manhattan. Given that I’m in a low-income, single parent household, I was relying on the aid. I’m sure I can rally the money together with help from my many amazing sources, but it’s still unfortunate that money is going to continue to be a barrier for me in this way. i’m
I’m very interested in environmental studies and journalism in both my personal life and as a career, so to be able to attend this course would be both an extremely valuable and fulfilling experience. The Summer Academy is a well-known institution in this area of journalism courses for youth, and they offer many different programs every summer. If you’re able to donate anything, share the link, or even read this post, I would be so grateful.
Thank you :)
