On November 1, 2021 at approximately 11:30pm Tyler was driving home from a 16 hour work day and dozed off at the wheel. His truck hit an embankment, flipped and rolled multiple times, hitting a tree and leaving a 100 yard long crash site. Tyler was awake & immobile inside his truck for almost 7 hours.
Ty remembers everything about that night alone in his truck; the silence, biting his airbag to try and move to call for help, thoughts of his family & friends, watching his dashboard slowly getting dimmer before he was in complete darkness and a voice telling him to, "keep fighting, stay awake, this is not how your story ends".
Finally at 6:31am, Glen County Sheriffs office received a call about a truck on the side of the road. CHP and EMS were dispatched to initiate support for Tyler. He suffered multiple injuries; fractured and displaced C5, 6 & 7 vertebrae and fractured thoracic spine, T7 & T9. He currently has no feeling below his chest, but Tyler is driven and determined to walk again.
Until that day he will require a lot of care & help, from his family and friends. These funds will go directly to Tyler’s care. We are grateful for any donation no matter how large or small.
Thank you for thinking of Tyler in his time of need as Tyler has always been there to help others. Please take this opportunity to share Tyler’s story so that he may one day reach his goal of walking again and doing the things he loves most, like hunting and fishing and spending time with friends and family.
We love you and God bless.
