I’m reaching out to you today with a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit as we rally for my dear friend Stephanie and her beloved dog, Luci. Recently, their lives took an unexpected and tragic turn when Luci was involved in a terrible accident with a vehicle. In an instant, everything changed, leaving this precious fur baby fighting for her life.

Luci has always been more than just a pet to Stephanie; she is her loyal companion, her source of joy, and her family. When the unthinkable happened, Stephanie rushed Luci to a local vet, where she was stabilized before being transferred to CSU Vet Hospital in Fort Collins for specialized care. The prognosis was grave: Luci had suffered severe injuries, including a crushed pelvis that required both of her hips to be rebuilt, along with life-saving intestinal surgery.

The road ahead is daunting, both emotionally and financially. Luci will need extensive rehabilitation, follow-up appointments, and ongoing care as she heals from these devastating injuries. The vet bills have already soared to nearly $30,000, a burden that is overwhelming for anyone, let alone in these challenging times.
