Karen Hanks, was a light in this world
Fifteen years ago her life took a terrible turn. She was paralyzed after an tragic auto accident, at the age of 29. Although it took her ability to walk it did not hinder her spirit. She persevered, she just did what God wanted her to do and that was to fight.
Some people are chosen to live a continuous fight. The unthinkable. That was Karen's family. She lost her young nephew, Kevin, her sister, Laurie, all the while bound to her bed. She could not touch them, hug them or help them through their pain but she could love them. This was the kind of love so great that she knew they felt her and in that she had peace.
Her selflessness was shown through her decision to give her only child up for adoption. She knew. She loved. She lived selflessly. And let her go. She was able to reconnect with her a year and a half ago and that bond will never be broken, not even by death.
The amount of patience she had was that of a saint and the unconditional love she gave was nothing short of an Angel. She was triumphant, victorious and dang gum it hilarious warrior princess!
Her chains are gone, she is now free. Dancing in Heaven, she will eternally be!
Please know that we are humbled and our hearts are full of love and gratitude. If you find it in your hearts to donate, it will all be going to her cremation expense.
God has blessed us with a church that will hold her services and direct them for free.
The family and friends of Karen thank you. May your blessings be given back ten fold.
