Rebuild EJ's Woodshop

Hey, I’m EJ, and I have a one-human woodworking shop in Philly where I make custom designs ( https://www.hurricanewoodwork.com/newgallery).

Today, my heart is shattered. Last night my shop was broken into and everything was stolen. 

They took everything— all $15k worth of power tools, which was my life savings that I’ve been slowly building out over the years as an investment in myself and my business.

I don't have renter's insurance on my shop, or savings to replace the tools. I am at a complete loss for words. These people were so cavalier that they used my hair wax, drank my beer and did drugs on my chair. I'm devastated.

My silver lining today is that I was not here when they were. I usually work very late hours but went home early last night for dinner with my partner and sister-in-law so thankfully I am safe. Thank you in advance to anyone who helps me through this horrendous time.


A little about me

I started my woodworking business years ago with sandpaper, a drill and a lot of determination. I made small pieces (coasters, shelves, etc) and sold enough to be able to purchase a sander. In this way, over years, I worked my way up to purchasing more expensive power tools that enabled me to take on bigger and bigger projects for people across the country.
