Hey! My name is Angel Castillo and I am a senior computer science student at UMD. I was supposed to graduate in the spring 2024, but unfortunately, and to put it shortly: life happened! I was diagnosed with a rare vascular cancer at the start of my senior semester. Through the physical and mental trials, I was able to finish up the semester strong: I could not be more proud of myself. However, I will be taking a gap semester or two, to ensure I focus on my physical therapy, as well as pushing through the chemotherapy. I plan on getting prosthetics to help me get back to a sense of normalcy. Anything helps right now to cover the cost of the prosthetics, as well as to cover travel. The fight isn’t over yet.
