Tanner and Chase, along with their parents and maternal grandparents, lost everything in the Valley Fire, including, we believe, their two beloved cats.
Megan and I have been friends for 20 years, she is as close to me as my own sister. I have lived in her family home (also destroyed by the Valley Fire), I celebrated holidays as part of her family, and now I grieve with her in her loss. When we spoke the morning after our entire community was evacuated, I asked what I could do for her. She did not ask for anything for herself, only small things to help the boys in their displacement. Her main concern has been easing the boys through the devastating loss of their home and belongings, their history, even their beloved cats.
I am setting up this account to help replace the boys's clothing, bedding, toys and backyard playset as quickly as possible to help bring a sense of familiarity and normalcy to their young lives. I know their parents will see to the needs of their boys first and foremost, and my hope is to ease their burden in this respect, so that they may focus on the needs of their family as a whole.
If money is raised beyond the goal amount, or there is money left over due to the incredible generosity of many business owners who have pledged to offer discounts to the fire victims, we have decided that every extra cent will go towards other children in the community who lost their homes to the Valley Fire.
Please help me help my family.
