Im putting this together on behalf of our dear friends, The Fulwilers, as they navigate something no family ever expects to face.
As most of this village knows, Lane is a 19-year-old sophomore at Texas A&M University. After experiencing ongoing headaches and dizziness, she sought medical care note once, but twice. On Friday October 3rd, doctors discovered a that Lane had a brain tumor. From there, things moved very quickly.. On Monday, October 6, 2025, she underwent a 10-hour brain surgery.
As of now, they’re still awaiting results as to exactly what type of tumor it is and what treatment will be required next, which has been extremely stressful.
Lane is being treated at MD Anderson in Houston, which is about three hours from their home in Round Rock, Texas. In the coming weeks and months, they will need to travel back and forth frequently for follow-up care and whatever treatment plan is determined.
Lane is the oldest daughter of Jen and Joe Fulwiler and one of six children. Her parents and grandmother are doing everything they can to care for Lane while also making sure her five other siblings continue to have the support, stability, and normalcy they need during this incredibly difficult time.
They are beloved members of St. William Catholic Church in Round Rock, and Lane attends St. Mary’s Catholic Church in College Station while at school. Their faith is a deep source of strength, as is the love and support of their community.
Many people have been asking how they can help. With this being one option, donations of any amount will go toward things like:
* Travel and lodging costs for trips to Houston
* Meals and caregiving needs away from home
* Support for the siblings and household while the parents divide their time
* Lost income and unexpected medical expenses
Giving is of course entirely optional, and the family is deeply grateful for any support—financial, spiritual, or emotional.
If you’re not able to donate, we kindly ask for prayers, especially through the intercession of Our Lady of Champion. Your prayers truly mean as much as any financial gift.
Your prayers, generosity, and compassion are a blessing to them. Thank you for showing up for Lane and her family in whatever way you can.
