Beyon's Robbery Recovery Fund

Donation protected
Beyon Wren Moor is a 26 year old transgender, mixed race, indigenous, multidisciplinary artist / activist, and nationally touring musician. The recipient of numerous awards and fellowships, Beyon's beautiful, urgent work exposes intergenerational trauma and its roots in colonization and continued state violence towards indigenous peoples.

As a frequent traveler between America and Canada, Beyon has been searching for a permanent place to rest for quite some time. This December she made a serious step towards financial and physical stability by accepting a grueling 16 hour per day, 7 days a week, 33 days in a row job as a migrant worker in New York City in order to finance having a home and surviving for 2016.

From Beyon:

"December was spent as a migrant worker selling trees on the streets of New York. This was a single payment job and was one of the most physically and emotionally damaging types of work I have ever participated in...

Early in the morning on my way to the bank shortly after receiving my cash payment, having completed my 33 day work term, I was followed and attacked. My attacker hit me in the face and ribs while I was laying on the ground. They then took the cloth bag containing my payment and disappeared.

Thankfully my injuries were not as serious as they could have been. However, all of the money I had earned, which amounted to more than half of my yearly income, was gone.

The money I hope to recover through gofundme will be used as I would have used the money that was stolen. I hope just to be able to pay rent and feed myself so that i am able to have a safe and healthy environment in which i can continue creating artwork. The emergency savings i have been living off of since my attack are quickly depleting and i will be penniless by the end of this month. if i am able to earn enough to keep me afloat during these times through this fundraiser i would be eternally grateful.

Support in this time would mean a lot to me. I was very hesitant to create this account and am still very uncomfortable asking for help in this way… but it has been suggested to me by multiple people and I have reached the limit from which I can move forward without others' help. <3<3<3 "

Everyone deserves a safe place to live, sleep, and thrive. As a working artist, Beyon also needs a stable physical foundation to continue making the work that not only nourishes her, but sustains the communities who rely on her vision and talents for advocacy.

Please help Beyon recuperate what was lost and have a stable home for 2016.
