Hakham Meir Rekhavi's work of his life has been the organization and translation of the written Torah in the Peshat (plain meaning).  He needs $17,000.00 to complete the publishing of his book.  It is a important work for Karaite Judaism.  I am looking to use this means to help achieve his dream of having his work published.  The book will be a modern look at Torah from a Karaite perspective and provide a resource to modern students.  I have his permission to do this fundraiser and only he will profit from this fund raising.  He has been working on this book and other teaching materials for over 20 years.  Most have been done in the past free of charge.  However, this work requires funds to complete the publishing.  

"Hakham" is a title granted by Karaites to learned people and is similar to the Rabbanite title "Rabbi". Hakham Meir Rekhavi studied for many years in Jerusalem under the late Hakham Mordecai Alfandari (of blessed memory). Hakham Rekhavi currently lives in Beer'Sheva, Israel, and carries on the tradition of scholarship of his teacher Hakham Alfandari.
