Diesel’s Recovery

Hi my name is Diesel,

i’m a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and I was just camping with my family when I got scared by something in the bushes and I ran off to protect myself. My owners aren’t sure what has happened to me. They found me at the bottom of a cliff and I couldn’t walk no matter how hard I tried. My owners think I got stuck in a tree and ripped my harness off me and I fell off a small cliff that I didn’t see and went unconscious. After over an hour of me leaving, my owners heard me barking; in total it took them 5 hours to find me and carry me back to camp. I was so scared and I just wanted to get home. They said if I never barked I wouldn’t have been found!

When I got to safety I was checked and I was missing several teeth, my eyes were bloodshot, I was showing signs of heatstroke, I was bleeding a lot and I had bruises everywhere. My owners took me to the emergency vet an hour away and I started going into shock and was having difficulty breathing.

The vet says I need some of my teeth removed, I have a really bad fracture that they aren’t sure how to treat, i’ve broken one of my dewclaws and I will need intense ongoing care for quite a while after this

My owners are only 20 and don’t get paid for a while.

Anything will help them they just need some help so I can get the care I require. The cost for my care is increasing $4000 each day and my owners are struggling to pay for it
