Horse: Miracle 62 day Preemie Filly

Our little Filly was born 62 days premature. There appeared to be an infection in the womb and Mare birthed and/or aborted her. She is a fighter and wanted to live. She defies logic to be born alive and surprises the experts. She has been ripped out of death's grip more than once this past week and continues to fight to live. Many things were not completely ready for her world appearance. Lungs, Kidneys, leg bones to name a few. Yet she continues to fight and amaze those involved. The day of birth, more than 8 experts told us to put her down would be the right thing to do and her chances were next to none to live. Our hearts and Faith in God told us differently. She has fought so hard to live that the Vets now are encouraged she could make it. First day cost $2000 was the Vet estimate with addition $500 to $1000 a day thereafter dependent on events of the day. Estimated to need at least 2 to 3 more weeks after this first week in Equine ICU. We have named her Miracle and after her Mom and Dad. "Roosters Sannman Miracle". ' Sandi' for short. I have set the Goal at $20K because I feel confident it will exceed that. There will most likely be Physical Therapy needed for her legs and potential surgery for the same to put her in a condition of a normal horse. I would like to give her the best chance at a normal horse's life. If any horse has a chance it is our girl, she wants it so bad, you can see that in her efforts to hang on and live. Any funds received beyond Sandi's care will be set up in Sandi Miracle Foundation and go toward subsidizing care for other premature Foal care in our local Equine Hospital.
