Angels

El es angel, mi papa.

El pasado 20 de noviembre llegamos de emergencia al hospital Dell Seton porque mi papa tenia alta temperatura, sufre desde hace 1 año de deficiencia renal por ende recibe tratamiendo de dialisis. En emergencias pasamos 7 horas, el 21 de noviembre en la madrugada lo tranfirieron a la UCI y ahi ha permanecido desde entonces.

Tuvieron que inducirlo en coma ya que empezo a presentar cuadros de convulsiones al inicio pensaron que era meningitis porque tiene su cerebro inflamado a causa de la infeccion pasados los dias y despues de muchos examenes dedujeron que lo que estaba afectandolo era virus del Nilo, transmitido por un mosquito.

Los doctores después muchos intentos y de tratar varios medicamentos me dan la noticias que mi papa no va a lograr levantarse esta vez ya que la infeccion esta consumiendo gran parte de su cerebro, mi mamá y yo tomamos la decision de desconectarlo en las próximas semanas para evitarle dolor y más desgaste.

Me encuentro en esta situacion ya que no cuento con el suficiente dinero para pagos del hospital y de los servicios funerarios.

This is angel, my father and best friend. As many of you guys know my father suffers from chronic kidney failure. On November 20th my father was taken to the ER due to a sever fever he was developing. My father lasted 7 hours in the ER, he later started showing meningitis symptoms so was quickly transferred to the ICU. In the ICU my father started to develop convulsions and what seemed the beginning of a stroke. On November 21st we were told by neurologists and other doctors it would be best if we sedated him and induced him into a ventilator to help with the breathing. After many tests, lumbar puncture’s and evaluations my father was diagnosed with the WEST NILE VIRUS. The virus had already spread quickly affecting the brain and other organs. On December 1st I was given the news that the virus was consuming most part of the brain which leads to brain dead. My mother and I took the hard decision to have him unplug him in the next couple of weeks.
