Some of you may have heard that our good friend Chalkie (Michael Crook, top DJ and Quiz Master Extraordinaire) has been having a really tough time lately.

He was diagnosed with cancer at the end of 2021 and had to have a very intrusive operation to remove the tumour in January, which has been followed up by an intensive course of both radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Treatment is still ongoing and throughout most of this time, Chalkie has been unable to work. Added to the pandemic, this means that for the last 2+ years, Chalkie has had little or no income and has been living off his savings. Unfortunately, these have now run out.

The last thing Chalkie needs at the moment on top of his health problems is to worry about how he's going to pay the rent and bills. That's why we've set up this page, in the hope that we can send some money to him at such a difficult time in his life. He has to pay his rent in the UAE 6 months in advance, and his next payment of £6,500 is due in June. If you are able to contribute, no matter how large or small, it would be so appreciated.
