Help Us Screen Our Action Film!

Hi there,
Our film, ‘Bloodlust’ needs to be seen on the big screen. Up there with the great spectacles of cinema like ‘Lawrence of Arabia’ or ‘Interstellar’…
Maybe not really. But, we still think it’ll be cool!
We’re about halfway through the editing process and we’ve realised that ‘Bloodlust’ is now a feature film. This gives us all the more reason to want to share it with those who worked on the film, and those who have followed and supported us along the way.
We think it’ll be a great chance to bring our audience together, as well as other filmmakers, creatives, or really just anyone with some spare time and an open mind.
What’s it about?
The film follows a man who seeks revenge against a group of survivors, set amidst a post apocalyptic landscape.
How did the film come to be?
Here's a bit more backstory on how this little idea for a ten minute short developed into the biggest project we'd ever worked on...
As young filmmakers, enrolled at Uni, we realised we wanted to stop sitting in a classroom and just make a film. This led to the idea for a short action film that mixed our love for fight scenes, practical effects, and independent filmmaking. On our own, we decided we were going to do it and we weren't going to pull any punches.
As our cast grew, so did the story. It became a four month long, rigorous shoot. We braved the weather, the restrictions of low budget filmmaking, and the various issues that arose from having just a four person crew. Despite this, our passion never let up.
We found ways to choreograph fight scenes with limited crew, limited stunt knowledge, and limited resources. The dedication and effort of our cast and crew was fantastic to see and be apart of.
On top of this, all our cast members voluntarily starred in the film. From the start, they possessed an energy that enhanced the entire production. As it evolved, so did their devotion to the project. We asked a lot from them- and they always delivered.
So, where does that leave us now?
Well, with the combination of how much effort we’ve seen from our cast and crew and the great experience we had making it, we believe the best way to share our work is on a cinema screen!
But being uni students who accidentally made a feature film, we are also broke...
That's where you come in!
If you would like to see ‘Bloodlust’ on the big screen, then please help us to get it there! We would love nothing more than to share our work with you.
The breakdown of our fundraiser is as follows.
Most cinemas charge $1,200 to $1,500 just for cinema hire. We would also like to chip in for drinks and food.
We feel as though $1,500-$2,000 will provide us with the ability to fund both the premiere of the film and to ensure a great night.
What’s the plan?
We will hire out a Melbourne based cinema and premiere ‘Bloodlust’. It’ll be a great night where we would love to bring together other filmmakers, family, friends, and an audience eager to see our film.
We will consistently post updates on the progress of the film and the details regarding the screening.
