Hi, my name is Dave Vaile and I'm fundraising for Aquablation surgery to remedy my enlarged prostate.
Other prostate surgeries come with significant, permanent side effects. This FDA approved surgery is the safest and most precise type of surgery for Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) — also called prostate gland enlargement.
Unfortunately, this is not covered by Alberta Health Services or available in Alberta, where I live.
I have had this problem and its accompanying symptoms for over 12 years.
However, it has progressively become worse, making daily life almost unbearable.
For a few years now, I've had family members suggest I try fundraising. This was an idea I vetoed, as I'm a very private person, who does not like to ask for anything.
This surgery would completely take care of my problem and give me a life again.
The surgery, as performed by Dr. Zorn, of the Brunswick Medical Center in Montreal, costs $16,000 CAD.
