On 7/26 & 7/27, we were victims of flash flooding. Our entire basement filled with water in a very short time. The water has receded, and we are working on cleaning up the aftermath.

We have contacted agencies for help, of which has been very limited. We have also contacted home insurance for coverage. There is no flood coverage, but there is a water clause. If covered, we will need to pay the deductible. If not covered, replacement of everything will be out of pocket.

We had many major household appliances and equipment damaged by water. This includes the washer, dryer, furnace, AC, water heater, dehumidifier, pressure tank, and a large chest freezer full of food. This doesn't include anything else that was stored in the basement.

We can not replace appliances and equipment until insurance claim is finalized. All we can do is continue cleaning out damaged personal items.

We are asking for assistance for replacing appliances and equipment. Any help would be deeply appreciated.

The amount of things we will end up losing is heartbreaking. Some things are replaceable, others are not. The sheer amount of loss that comes with flooding is unimaginable.

I have been in contact with the local emergency management agency. Unfortunately, the damage was so localized that it doesn't meet qualifications for FEMA.

Clean up is going to continue. I have been doing a lot on my own to prevent the kids and especially Craig, whom has a mold allergy, from being downstairs. Getting ourselves back to a somewhat normal life is our biggest goal right now.
