Reuniting With Our Mother
Donation protected
A few things were supposed to happen this summer. I was going to visit my family in American Samoa, and my parents and I had planned to take my siblings and my son to Disney Land, among other things.
However, in February, our Mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer.
American Samoa's local hospital lacks the resources needed to treat cancer patients, so we moved my mom to Seattle where we have family to help her with her appointments.
My plan was to move to Seattle, work there, and take care of my mom; instead, she asked that I move home, to American Samoa, to help my Dad and take care of the kids; that's exactly what I did.
My Dad flew to Seattle a few nights ago to visit my Mom... SO, holding down the fort, I've started fundraising by baking and selling goodies in hopes to take my siblings and son up to Seattle, as soon as possible, so they could see her, and she could see them.
After doing the math, I've realized that I won't be able to raise enough money for all of us to visit my Mom, soon, just by selling goodies. With both Mom and Dad in Seattle, my sales are currently our income... and taking care of 4 kids is already a full-time job! lol . That being said, I started this GoFundMe Campaign in hopes to reunite my family, hopefully within the next 1-2 months.
Any amount received will be used for our round trip tickets to Seattle, getting the kids' passports expedited, coming up with activities that we could do WITH my Mom, and expenses for the 4-6 weeks that we will be in Seattle.
I am not doing this for me...
My siblings, especially my son, miss our Mom, and I KNOW it'll strengthen my mom to see her kids.
It's was really hard for me to finally make the decision to create this campaign, as I am one to work for and earn my money. However, I would really like to thank my family members and friends who encouraged me to do it.
Seeing the look on my son's face when he runs to hug my mom and hearing my siblings call out "Mommmm", is a moment that I look forward to everyday. The warmth of my heart when I see my mom excited to see her kids, is a feeling I can now only hope for. I normally don't ask for much; If you are currently in a bind, please, please don't feel obligated. Even just sharing and spreading the word would mean the world to me.
For everything you give, may receive twice as much ❤
