Support Our Dream of Starting a Family

We are the Scotts and we live in Fort Myers, FL. I (Amanda) work as a Special Education Teacher, and Josh is a Youth Pastor at Summit Church.

We are raising money so that we are able to begin our first round of IVF. We have been trying to get pregnant for almost three years now, and after lots of testing and waiting, we recently received results that meant that a natural pregnancy was highly unlikely for us.

After considering our options and trying different procedures and medications, we came to the ultimate conclusion that IVF would give us the best chance of having a baby of our own. Having children is a dream of ours, and we are hoping and praying to start the next phase of our life this way. We have a deep love for children, and have been involved in foster and respite care throughout our marriage. We are asking the Lord to graciously give us this good gift.

We believe that children are gifts from the Lord, and that every pregnancy and every birth is directly from his hand. While the past three years have been some of the most confusing and challenging, wrestling with doubts and the loss of the dream of what we thought our lives would look like, we say with Job, "The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord." He is sovereign over our lives and we can trust him to do what's best for us, even when it's not what we would have chosen.
