Good morning, my name is Carien Anderson, and this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever written or asked.
I’m a single mother of two daughters, an English teacher, and a coach who has spent years working with students. Teaching isn’t just my job; it’s who I am. I believe deeply in education, perseverance, and showing up for others—even when life gets tough.
Right now, life is tough. I'm going through a lot and thought, hey, I can do this on my own and push through so I don't let anyone down. I've smiled through it all, and right now, smiling is getting difficult.
Over the past year, my family and I have faced multiple injuries and illnesses—my daughters and myself included. These unexpected challenges brought medical bills, missed work (teaching and doing hair), and mounting expenses that quickly became overwhelming. I’ve done everything I can to keep us afloat while staying positive and lighthearted for my girls because I know how easy it is to spiral when the pressure doesn’t let up.
I’m currently working to finish my remaining coursework before my teaching license expires in May. I only have two classes left, but I have to pay out of pocket. I've been accepted into a few schools, but aid is limited. Completing this is critical—not just for my career, but for the stability and future of my family.
Asking for help is not something I do easily. I’m usually the one encouraging others, cheering from the sidelines, and finding a way forward. But right now, I need support to stay on my feet and keep moving forward for my daughters and for the students I care so deeply about.
Your support will help me with:
- The costs required to complete my remaining coursework
- Catching up on my mortgage
- Ensuring that my daughters and team members are continuing to thrive
Any amount helps more than you know. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page is just as meaningful.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for helping me continue doing what I love—teaching, coaching, and raising two strong young women with hope and resilience. ❤️
