Don't Say Happy Birthday, Year 3
Each year for my birthday I, Jon Nelson, request that instead of writing "Happy Birthday" or anything else on my facebook page, texts, etc - take the time to donate to charity.
This year, my 3rd year of doing this via social media, I have partnered up with Rob "Blasko" Nicholson - who shares the birthdate of November 24
If each of our friends on social media would donate only $1 - we could make a big difference.
This is something I started with my family years ago, in lieu of presents - donate to charity.
Last year we raised over $1000 for various charities. This year I hope to go over $1000 but any amount is appreciated.
This year we have picked the 2 following charities to doante to:
Kitten Rescue - Kitten Rescue saves the lives of 1,000 cats and kittens every year. Since they don't shy away from sick and injured kitties, they have huge vet bills They need your help! Any amount you donate will help save lives!
A Passion For Paws - Akita Rescue - A Passion for Paws Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) certified non-profit dedicated to saving the lives of
Akitas and other dogs in need. We rescue and support dogs including veterinary costs, food and
temporary housing until the dogs can be adopted into their forever homes. We are a NO KILL
rescue organization that survives entirely on donations. We are these shelter dogs' last hope!
