Snarski Family Medical Fund
Donation protected
Friends, family and community,
I write to you in hopes that you will consider donating to an amazing family that I have the pleasure to call some of our closet friends.
Matt and Shannon Snarski were high school sweethearts that married and have two great little boys, Aiden 11 and Gavin 7. This family has strong ties to the community as they were all raised in St. Clair Shores.
Matt works long hours as a plumber, he is the sole financial provider for their fsmily. Shannon is a hard working stay at home mom that spends most of her time voluntarily working for Rodgers Elementary as the PTC President.
11 years ago Matt was diagnosed with bilateral pheochromocytoma (a very rare tumor located on the adrenal glands that causes severe high blood pressure. ) He had surgery on 2004 to have the tumors removed but has continued to have mild high blood pressure ever since.
This past April while working Matt suffered a stroke which was caused by his high blood pressure. He was admitted to the hospital and underwent extensive medical tests.
He was sent to a specialist at U of M Hospital and they confirmed that the tumors have returned. Matt will be having another surgery to remove the new tumors on September 4th. Because of the scar tissue caused by the first surgery, this next surgery will be extremely more difficult. Matt had to start his FMLA earlier than planned due to side effects from a medication he needs to take in order to lower his blood pressure drastically before surgery. He is expected to be in the hospital in Ann Arbor (an hour from his home) for recovery for up to 2 weeks as he regains his strength and mobility. He will be off work a minimum of 4 months. During this time his insurance will only be paid for 12 weeks and then Cobra payments will begin which are as much as a mortgage payment.
Having the sole provider off work for this long can be debilitating for any family.
I beg you to please consider donating to this family while Matt recovers from this life threatening surgery. Knowing that his family is being helped financially will be one less worry during his road to recovery!
Thank you and God Bless!
