National Invention Convention Trip
Donation protected
Hi my name is Garrett Hoyt, I am an 8th grader and I am an inventor. This year I invented what is called the Floating Recycle Factory. My invention won 1st place at the state level for the state of Idaho and now I am eligible to compete in the National Invention Convention held in Washington D.C. in May. The idea and concept behind my invention of the Floating Recycle Factory is a barge system that cleans up the Pacific Vortex and is solar powered and is GPS and computer controlled.
The Floating Recycle Factory floats through the Pacific Vortex and picks up floating plastics, debris and fishing nets and shreds them down into a more manageable size and then compacts them into large bails for recycling into hundreds of items we use on a daily basis.
Hundreds of thousands of marine life and sea birds die annually by getting tied up in plastics and can't get lose or by eating the plastics and not being able to digest them.
In order for me to compete at the next level of competition in Washington DC, I am trying to raise money for me and a chaperone. The cost is approximately $2500 per student and chaperone, for airfare, hotel for three nights, and expenses.
Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated and will help me get closer to my goal. We are trying to raise all funds by April 30, 2016 in order to get the best rates possible for airfare and etc.
Additional information about this event can be seen here:

Again, thank you very much for any donation you can help with it will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you – Garrett.
