Sometimes bad things happen to good people.
I've created this go fund me for Nick Kopp
His vehicle was stolen right out of our driveway. He worked full time over the summer 2015 as part of a student employment opportunity with Kaiser Permanente Hospital. He saved his money and bought a 1997 Honda CRV, he had such pride in his purchase and was thrilled with his new independence. The vehicle was older and had more than a few miles on it, but it was his ride!
Due to the age and value of the vehicle it was only covered by liability insurance which means it's a complete loss for him. Unfortunately even if it's found there will most likely be fees for impound etc.
As some of you might know Nick has been through a difficult few years. He was diagnosed with Ostesarcoma at age 15. He worked so hard fighting cancer, recovering from his limb salvage procedure, learning to walk again and rebuilding his body. A year of chemo treatments are taxing and cause everlasting damage, but all that poison saved his life.
He has had to endure so much, he's a cancer survivor, a selfless kindhearted member of this failing society who only wants to do good and help others! Because of his life threatening cancer diagnosis he was granted a Make- A -Wish and he chose to give his wish to help others. He has raised funds and brought awareness for childhood cancer research. We want him to continue his path of community compassion and involvement. We do not want this unfortunate event to taint his perspective on the good that is out there.
Instead of the lesson being focused on the crime and loss I'm hoping the lesson can be turned into a positive. We want him to experience the caring side of society. The side of society that helps their neighbor and fellow man not the part that steals and causes harm. We know how amazing it is when people can come together and help.
He is such a selfless young man and we are proud of his accomplishments. He is a responsible citizen who loves working, attending college, and living life with a positive attitude.
There are many people expressing their desire to help him get back on the road and encouraging us to establish this Go Fund Me. So here it is...Let's see what we can do.
