I do this only because hard times call for desprite measures. I am not good with computers so a young friend is helping me out. I don't even know how to facebook!
My name is Angela Ferris. I go by Angie. To tell you about me is easy-I love God, family, and life. I have 4 children that are ours by nature and one by act of God.
My problem is CKD. I am on dyalisis and need a transplant. It takes a lot of testing and traveling to be on the active transplant list. We have had gas money help from a man in our church that knew my grandfather. In two weeks I should be going "active" on the transplant list.
United Methodist Church in Cadillac is very emotionally supportive. My family and friends where I work are awesome! I work at Curry House Assisted Living and Memory Care. This is my home away from home. A lot of support comes from my residents. With them I have 60 plus extra parents! I love them.
All before this job I worked 20 plus years with the disabled adults of our area -- they are great cheerleaders for me!
I need to live. I want to see my kids all have families of their own. I want to ensure that my elderly are taken care of and loved. Most of all I want to be there for my husband. I have been in the hospital for months at a time. In and out of the hospital for the last two months due to the kidney issues and this man has never left my side. Every appointment he holds my hand, wipes my tears, and takes care of me. He needs a wife that can take care of him too.
Our children help with money when they can, which still does not feel right to me. Money is needed to cover travel (we live 150 miles from the transplant center) and when God gets me a kidney, insurance does not cover everything.
Last of all I need to be there for Maddie. She is my granddaughter who is 8 years old. She checks on me when I am sick to make sure I am still breathing. She climbs in bed with me and talks of what we can do together when I am well - she needs me as much as I need her.
Please help me fight as hard as I can!
