Help Me Pay for College

Hi, my name is Tsai-ann Thomas. I am a 20 year old paraplegic living with spina bifida, as well as a few other diagnoses. I am currently living in a long-term care facility due to my health issues. I am dependent on oxygen during the day and on a breathing machine at night. I am paralyzed from waist down and require a wheelchair to move around. Transportation is nearly impossible because of Covid and would expose me and the other patients that I live with to germs if I were to leave the facility, Which is why it’s extremely difficult to get any money. This is why I would like to major in medical coding because I can study at home and take the exams at home. I have just recently completed my GED program and graduated! I am hoping to continue to further my education at Suffolk Community College or AAPC; American Association of Professional Coders, to obtain certification in Medical Coding and Billing. Unfortunately, financial aid is not fully covering my tuition. I have applied for many scholarships and I was not chosen for any of them. Completion of this program will allow me to be able to get a job and no longer have to live in a long-term care facility. It will allow me to live a normal life and pursue my other interests and hobbies which include cosmetology. I also would like to start my own business, Shania's Boutique, which will sell beauty products such as: sunglasses, eyelashes and hair.
