Help Peanut’s medical costs after dog attack

Hi my name is Jenn and this is really hard for me to write as i am going through so many emotions, i have a 16 week old mini dachshund, Peanut, he was bitten by another dog on his head on January 21st. He suffered a fracture to his skull near his left eye and the optic nerve has severe irreversible damage. underneath his left eye is broken in 2 parts. The Doctor said he needs to have an enucleation surgery which involves the complete removal of his left eye. he will require immediate surgery. his road to recovery will be a process that will be a long and painful.

i am still in shock and disbelief from the trauma and i have to live with the fact that as his dog parent i feel like i have failed. i am broken completely, my heart hurts. i know that crying wont solve or heal but it is so difficult to accept what happened.

He is so young, curious and full of life. He is the joy to my life. he saved me. he saved me from my depression and anxiety. he saved me so i have to save him and not give up on him.

it is hard for me to even ask for help to my fellow friends and family and peers. but i truly want to give Peanut the best life and i need all the help that i can get. He will have to adjust with only his right eye. and his fracture will have to heal on its own. he will have to live with trauma of other big dogs. And i want him to just live a happy life, he has so much life ahead of him and he is only still a baby.

Peanut is so strong and brave. seeing his tears stain his right eye and looking at me before i left him at the emergency vet was the hardest thing i had to see. seeing him in pain.hearing him cry for me.

i know that the doctors and nurses at Pender will take great care of him.

i cant wait to see him and give him so much love.

anything you donate will help pay for peanuts surgery and hospital expenses as well for his long journey to recovery.

The surgery costs roughly $4500. i have covered a little less than half just to get him in surgery.

Peanut didnt deserve this attack.

i pray that he will touch everyone of your hearts and live a healthy and normal life despite all that has happened.

he is not just my pet.

He is my child, my baby, our family member.
