On Monday, August 25, 2025, our dear friend, Anna Tegarden, experienced substantial flooding in her home in 29 Palms, California. The unexpected storm caused severe water damage, leaving her home in need of major repairs.
The flooding destroyed carpeting, baseboards, drywall, insulation, and framing in multiple rooms of her home, including one of the children's bedrooms. On top of that, the storm also revealed a roof leak that will need attention to make the house safe and prevent further damages.
As many of you know, Anna Tegarden is a kind and hardworking person who is always there for others. Now, she needs help from others. These repairs are extensive and costly, and insurance will not cover these damages. She is likely to take on many of the repairs herself and is a very skilled DIY'er, but these materials add up, and she will likely have to use experts for various portions of the work, such as installing carpet or for roofing repairs.
We’re asking for your support to help Anna repair her home. Any donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward replacing flooring, repairing walls, fixing the roof, and restoring a safe place for her, her kids, and her partner to live.
If you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this fundraiser to help spread the word. Every gesture of kindness makes a difference.
Thank you for your generosity and compassion in helping Anna Tegarden and her family through this difficult time.
Note: As she happens to be a government employee, Anna is subject to certain restrictions as to who she can receive gifts from:
1. It helps to be non-anonymous so Anna can be sure to accept your gift.
2. Anna cannot recieve gifts from NPS philanthropic partners.
3. If you are a government employee, it may help to keep your donation to $25. (There is generally an exception for one-time events, but just to be on the safe side)
