Hi my name is Matthew , I have worked as an EMT for SeniorCareems in both 911 and transport for the last two years. Im a father to four amazing children of whose lives I’m very much active in.
Unfortunately the other day I drove from New York to Florida , so I could drop the kids off to their mother after resting I started the drive back to NY. Around 4:40am a truck swerved directly into my lane and hit the car causing me to lose control. A bystander called everything in and I was transported to the hospital which is when they discovered I had broken my radius and ulna also my hand was pushed up my arm by half an inch.
At 09:00am they performed an open reduction surgery to straighten out my hand and arm. The doctors said I can’t have any weight on my left hand and to stay in the splint for 2-4 weeks also I will need to follow up with physical therapy for another 8 weeks after the initial 4 weeks.
Which means I will be out of work. I’m trying to raise funds I need to get my medications , pay for therapy, pay for the transportation to have my kids with me for summer vacation in late July, funds to pay for vehicle and utilities
